Chinese Dragon

Chinese Dragon takes the Yangtze River as the model for its dragon form, gathering cultural subjects from the regions along its course into the many panels of a long painting. Begun in 2012, it is shown here through full views, details and studio records.

Twelve Golden Hairpins

The Twelve Hairpins grows from Dream of the Red Chamber. Figures, objects and dress patterns retain individual identities while relating to one another as an ensemble. This section includes different versions and records of their making.

Buddha Figures

Created in 2016, Buddha Figure began with a small stone resembling a bodhisattva that the artist had found at an earlier studio. Its outer figure and interior space explore appearance and one’s inner state.
