Liulin Church

At Li Yikao’s invitation, Lu Renjie designed the glass window for Liulin Church. The sun, constellations, orbital paths and planets form an image in which light passing through glass becomes part of the architecture.

Laifu

Laifu (LUCKY DOLL) is a series of twelve small animal works. In its original story, Laifu can become the creatures it encounters but cannot imitate their facial features or tails, giving the rounded forms a shared identity.

Mechanical Tibetan Antelope

Built around a Tibetan antelope skull, the work combines clock parts, metal, ceramics and jade while preserving the original structure. This section records the whole work, details and the making process.

Metro Line 2

Beginning in 2008, the artist observed and photographed Shanghai’s metro carriages before developing a long group portrait. People of different ages, clothing and gestures meet within the same shared space.

Self-Portraits

These works record the self through different poses, compositions and drawing or painting approaches. Heads, seated figures and working gestures offer observations from different moments.
